Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Moe Malek
Dr. Malek was raised in Raleigh, NC where he attended Millbrook High School. After his high school graduation in 1985, he continued his education at North Carolina State University where he received his undergraduate degree in 1990, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1999 from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. He is an active member of the North Carolina Dental Society, American Dental Society, and the Raleigh- Wake County Dental Society. Dr. Malek has been practicing in Knightdale, NC since November of 2001.
He is a strong believer in giving back to the community. He has participated in several mission trips including Costa Rica, El Salvador and the Middle East. He has also offered his dental services to the NC Missions of Mercy Clinic in Raleigh.
Dr. Malek enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Knight and their three children. His hobbies include fishing, soccer and traveling.
Dr. Mary Knight
Dr. Mary Knight is a native New Yorker who grew up in the Hudson Valley. She received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994. She then received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2000 also at the University of Chapel Hill. Dr. Malek and Dr. Knight have been in practice together since 2001, beginning with the Planter’s Walk location in Knightdale.
She is very active in the local Community. She has participated in the NC Missions of Mercy Clinic in Raleigh and is an active member of the Seattle Study Club and Delta Sigma Delta. She also volunteered her dental services on a mission trip to Costa Rica with the Chapel Hill Rotary Club.
Dr. Knight enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Moe Malek and their three children. Her hobbies include reading, hiking and traveling.
Dr. Holly Santago
Dr. Santago is an avid Wolfpack fan. She graduated from NC State in 2009 with a dual degree in marine science and biology. Leaving NC State behind, she attended UNC School of Dentistry, graduating with honors in 2013. Upon completion of dental school, she served our nation’s veterans in a one-year residency at the Fayetteville VA Hospital. She has enjoyed volunteering her time and talents at NC Mission of Mercy Clinics as well as on dental mission trips to Tanzania and Mexico. She is also an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, North Carolina Dental Society, Raleigh-Wake County Dental Society and Seattle Study Club.
Dr. Santago loves spending her free time reading and with her husband and new baby girl.
Dr. Parisa Kasravi
Dr. Parisa Kasravi grew up in Toronto, Canada where she finished high school in the year 2000. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. In 2004, Dr. Kasravi moved to Raleigh, North Carolina where she attended North Carolina State University and then later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2014. She has since been certified in Invisalign and Pinhole Surgery. Dr. Kasravi actively pursues continuing education opportunities that will help her better serve her patients.
She holds active membership in the Spears Study Club, American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, Raleigh-Wake County Dental Society and Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity.
Dr. Kasravi enjoys spending time with her husband and rescue dogs, Brie and Bowski. She also enjoys traveling.
Dr. Heather Zimmerman
Dr. Zimmerman received her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2010. She went on to graduate from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in 2015, obtaining her DDS degree. Following dental school, she completed a one-year advanced education in general dentistry program at ECU in Ahoskie, NC. In the program, she worked under many dental specialists to improve her skills and knowledge in all aspects of dentistry. Dr. Zimmerman loves dentistry and interacting with patients. She is passionate about educating patients regarding their oral health and working with them to achieve a beautiful and healthy smile.
Dr. Zimmerman lives in Raleigh, NC. In her spare time, she plays disc golf and ultimate Frisbee. She is currently the reigning women’s amateur champion in disc golf and spends many weekends playing tournaments when she has time. She also enjoys spending time with friends, eating good food, and traveling.
Dr. James Pyle
A native of California, Jim Pyle, DDS first completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at San Diego. After completing his dental degree at the University of California at San Francisco, Dr. Pyle moved to North Carolina in 1994, then completed a two-year General Practice Residency at UNC Hospital of Dentistry.
Dr. Pyle owned a very successful private practice in Durham for 25 years. He was a Dentist to the Durham Bulls baseball team in North Carolina. Following his short retirement of four months, he joined Axiom as an associate dentist. Dr. Pyle’s hobbies are skiing, exercising, paddle boarding and enjoying free time with his wife, Jennifer, and two sons, Tyler and Cameron.

Dr. Israa Elkattan
Dr. Elkattan loves helping her patients achieve and preserve their best smiles. Focused on each patient as an individual, she is an advocate for preventive and patient-focused care that ensures everyone receives the treatment that fits their specific situation. Her goal is not only to help her patients not only achieve the smile of their dreams, but also to educate each patient about their oral health.An excellent student, dr. Elkattan graduated magna cum laude with bachelor’s degree from virginia commonwealth university – achieving honors in every pre-dental course. She went on to complete her doctor of dental medicine degree at a.T. Still university’s arizona school of dentistry.
Dr. Elkattan is passionate about serving people. During her last year of dental school, she traveled and lived in five different rural community clinics across the united states to provide health care to underserved communities. She consistently pursues advanced training to enhance her technical and clinical skills to make sure her patients receive the best and latest advancements available.
Beyond serving patients, she enjoys traveling, cooking, pilates, and spending time outdoors with family.
Dr. Joy Dhawan
Dr. Joy has been practicing general and family dentistry for over a decade, specializing in cosmetic cases, sedation dentistry, and complete comprehensive care. Beyond her incredible skills, Dr. Joy fits the “Servant Leadership” vision of the practice to a “T”. She’s committed to making every patient feel like an extension of the family and that all of their needs are met.
Dr. Joy’s career has kept her along the East Coast. She grew up in Connecticut and attended the University of Florida, where she graduated cum laude with her bachelor’s degree. The University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry was the next stop, where she earned her DMD.
She’s happy to call Raleigh home now and has become a big NC State Wolfpack fan! In her free time, Dr. Joy enjoys reading books on various subjects, loves cooking, DIY projects, exploring North Carolina, and spending time with friends and family.
